Why can't I buy pallets in WARDOGS?

Short answer: you can't buy most WARDOGS pallets in Season 02 because they're locked. When you start, only the building supply pallet is open. The mechanical pallet costs $10,000 to unlock, another needs Wardog level 9, and the fuel pallet needs Wardog level 16 and then $50,000. You also need a truck that carries pallets, like the Ural, to buy one at all. I unlocked fuel to see if it was worth it, and for you as the driver, it isn't.

Which supply pallets are locked in WARDOGS Season 02?

In WARDOGS Season 02, three of the four supply pallets are locked when you start. This is how the logistics vendor's pallets tab looked for me on day two of the season, and again once I'd levelled up:

PalletDay two (Wardog level 3)Later (Wardog level 24)
Building suppliesOpen, $200 with the recruit discountOpen, $400
Second pallet (ammo crates)Locked: Wardog level 9Open, $400
Mechanical suppliesLocked: unlock for $10,000Still locked: unlock for $10,000
Fuel suppliesLocked: Wardog level 16Unlock for $50,000

So two of them are gated by your overall Wardog level, and two cost cash on top. Every pallet costs the same $400 to buy once it's open, and the fuel pallet's tooltip says it holds 1,800 fuel supplies, the same 1,800 a building pallet deposits.

What do you need to buy a pallet in WARDOGS?

To buy a pallet in WARDOGS you need a vehicle that carries pallets as well as an unlocked pallet. The vendor's own steps say the pallet "is loaded into your vehicle's logistics slots", and you then drive it to a friendly FOB, deploy it from the vehicle menu, and anyone can unload it into the FOB. In my first Season 02 games I was driving the Kodiak, the starting truck, and I couldn't check pallets at all until I had a Ural, which has a pallet slot in the back. Both the driver and whoever unloads the pallet get paid.

Is it worth unlocking the fuel pallet in WARDOGS?

No, the fuel pallet isn't worth unlocking for your own pay: it earns exactly the same as building supplies. I spent $50,000 on it and ran fuel and building pallets back to back on 17 October:

Fuel palletsBuilding pallets (next run)
Delivered (Driver XP)550, then 575600, then 625
Deposited into the FOB180 Support XP and $1,800 a pallet180 Support XP and $1,800 a pallet

The delivery XP only went up because it was my second run in a row. There's no extra XP for fuel by itself, just the streak for repeating runs. So it doesn't look like you get anything from delivering fuel over the pallets that don't cost $50,000 to unlock.

Which end of the Ural do pallets unload from in WARDOGS?

In WARDOGS, pallets unload off the front of the Ural, over the cab, even when you've reversed in to deliver. That's my complaint with it. I reverse up to the FOB so the load can just slide off the back of the truck, and instead it somehow comes off the front, inexplicably, over the cab.

I caught it on a replay on 17 October, and it costs more than the pallets. The whole thing takes about four seconds: I reversed in loaded, the pallets left the bed, and as soon as I pulled away, my Ural drove up onto the pallets that had landed in front of the cab and flipped onto its roof.

Why does locking pallets feel wrong?

Having to unlock pallets seems absurd to me when it doesn't directly benefit you. Everything you unlock benefits the team, but everything else also has some part that's instantly beneficial to yourself, like a better gun, a better piece of armour or more storage space. Pallets seem like the only unlocks with nothing directly beneficial to me as the driver. Every pallet I unlock, the $10,000 one included, only benefits the team. If you don't get more, why would I bother unlocking anything?

For now I just keep delivering building pallets. Money isn't the problem: I had $100,000 within my first two days of Season 02 (what starting Season 02 from zero was like).
